#5 Rei Shimura series in which Rei is contacted by the Museum of Asian Studies in Washington, D.C. They want her to put her expertise in ancient Japanese textiles to work giving a talk on Edo-period kimono and also to act as courier to the kimono they will be borrowing from a prestigious museum in Tokyo. Rei happily accepts and soon finds herself in deep trouble when one of the kimono is stolen, a fellow passenger on her flight from Tokyo ends up dead in a dumpster with Rei's passport in her coat pocket and then finds herself face to face with her former beau, Hugh Glendinning. I enjoyed this entry in the series quite a lot. Fast paced and interesting, and yet with plenty of details about the kimono, about how international museum loans work and the like. It's always great when you can learn something new and be entertained at the same time. Interesting stuff!
