It has been quite a while since I read a book by Robin Jones Gunn. For some reason in my mind I always think of them as as being geared towards young adults. But her newest one, Forever With You, is about Todd and Christy as married adults so I was interested in seeing how it would be. Needless to say, I found my thinking challenged and some very sweet thoughts in this novel. I will include a few quotes below so please make sure to read through.

This novel is another installment in the Christy Miller series but when her and Todd are married. We see them growing together and going through trials and struggles as any married couple does. The book opens with an exciting announcement that Christy wants to tell Todd about but someone kills the party. I felt that the characters are very well fleshed out. I see realistic circumstances and feelings that made me see them as normal human beings that might be friends in real life. The secondary characters are good as well and I enjoyed reading about their parents and friends. This would be an excellent book for young and old alike. It is a sweet story that I loved! Please read the quotes below as I found them to be eye opening and marked them in my copy.

Todd speaking to Christy, "I like what you said. About the tapestry. That's a great picture. I think we should be more confident that every single thread is being hand-selected by God in this prolonged season of waiting. He's weaving them together. When the time is right, we'll be able to see the pattern of what He's doing.... You know, to us, it looks like a colorful mess... Think of all those threads. All those pieces that God is connecting. It's like we're only able to see the underside with all the cross overs and knots. When the time is right, God will turn the tapestry over and we'll see the design on the top side."

Todd again speaking to Christy: "God doesn't drop His babies on their heads. It's true. He doesn't. He takes care of His children. I know that. I believe that. And now I'm having a chance to trust Him and start living as if I believe everything I've ever told anyone else when they were going through deep waters."

I received a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. All thoughts are 100% mine.
