i'm not sure that another 5 star review is needed here. but i will leave mine because it is with great pleasure that i applaud alka joshi for such a tender and deeply rewarding book. while i loved her first two books in the trilogy, this one brought me closer to what i love most, art. i listened to the audio book, which i highly recommend. the narrator was pitch perfect. it was totally delicious listening to both indian and french accents and vocabulary. a real treat. i thought that the tying in of developing fragrances and its connection to the women who modeled for artists a brilliant theme. and the struggles of one woman as a mother, a wife, a professional, a sister, a daughter in law, a friend, and a person who cares about others. i think this book can stand alone without reading the two previous books as there is plenty of back story that fills in the gaps. this was a really good read!
