A friend who knows I love "humorist essays" recommended this book to me. I was fearful it'd be a period piece of some kind, based on the title, but it's not. I enjoyed reading it, though the fact that the author remains anonymous kind of nagged at me a bit. Still, it was equal parts funny and touching.
