Some of the short stories were more interesting than others. None made me say 'wow, that was great'. The ones featuring teenage Reacher had potential, but faltered because he seemed just as adept at 16 as he was as an adult. It would have been far more interesting to see a more innocent, novice, 'Reacher-in-training' who made mistakes, learned from them, ultimately developing into the Reacher that we are all very familiar with. The book as a whole was good for a Reacher fix, but not as good as fully fleshed out novels.
