I'm really glad that I got this book using only a PBS credit.
It's never a good thing when an author has problems creating a new, unique character that isn't the same as so many before her, and this book is no exception. Nicole is Betsy/Fred/Caitlyn all over again. So, you won't find a lot of surprises.
This book also manages to waste a lot of paper with it's wide-spaced print, blank pages between chapters and even a chapter that only has 3 lines in it. I can honestly say that I couldn't put it down though. Because it was such a short book, I didn't have the time.
I guess I keep reading MJDs novels hoping that they'll be as enjoyable as when I first started reading her Betsy series, but after awhile, all the repetition has gotten annoying. This one was tolerable with a few quick laughs, but nothing that made me laugh out loud. I doubt I'll ever purchase a book by this author again, but luckily there's PBS, so all I have to do is use a credit and not feel like I've wasted a lot of money on a bum book.
