Scottish Laird Alec Kincaid travels to England to find a bride as per his King's wish. He chose Jamie, a feisty young woman who isn't afraid of him, even though she has heard the stories claiming Alec killed his first wife. When Alec takes Jamie back to Scotland, his clan is wary of her. But after saving the life of one of the clan members, the Kincaids quickly come to love Jamie...even though she's English. But when someone attempts to take Jamie's life, Alec and his men must make sure she doesn't end up like his first wife.
I love Julie Garwood's historical romances. They are fast-paced, funny, and so hard to put down. Her characters are great from her quirky heroines to her handsome gentle heroes. I read this book years ago and this time listened to the audiobook. The narrator, Rosalyn Landor, does a fantastic job with this story. My rating: 5 Stars.
