Not a bad first, though not too terribly exciting either. The plot was decent but lacked pizzaz. I'd like to see the characters have more depth. Numerous typos throughout the book were annoying as heck! Don't these publishers hire proof-readers any more?

For all its flaws I liked the main character enough that I'll give the others in the series a try.
