Having only seen Offerman in his "American Ham" comedy act (still have not watched a single episode of Parks and Rec) I wasn't sure what to make of the book. Much of it is an autobiography interspersed with small bits of wisdom/comedy (and written in a different font so they're easy to spot). Some smart commentary, but the book loses its steam as you follow Nick from the Chicago theatre scene and into the current day. A great read if you're looking to find out how to get to Hollywood (hint: be who you are and don't worry about the casting call so much) and some choice thoughts on food (eat meat), religion (the Bible is a book, not a political defense) and other items, it's a generally good read.
