This is a very nice sequel to Courting Trouble. Essie is 4 years older and has survived a broken heart and escaped public scandal. She meets a handsome oilman's son who has been disinherited and is trying to make his name in the oil business. He falls in love with Essie and she him but slowly. He becomes the racer in her bike club's annual race. He is jailed for the murder of his step-brother. He also becomes friends with an elderly lady who reads and collects romance stories by the shelves full. She helps him win Essie's stubborn, fearful, heart. Its a fun story, full of action. Nice ending to Essie Spreckelmeyer. Enjoy them both!
