My partner is really fascinated by this book. It's about the building of the big electrical generating project northeast of Fresno, California in the Sierra foothills (well, about 5,000 feet) about 100 years ago, and it's still going. It's a little out of the way to get to (it's not on a through highway) but worth the trip.
