This is the first true crime book I've read by Corey Mitchell. After reading this book, Mitchell comes close to one of my favorite true crime writers, Jack Olsen. This book is about the kidnapping, torture and murder of 2 women in their 20's by Rex Allan Krebs. These women would have still been alive today if Krebs had served his 20 year sentence instead of the 10 he did serve. Krebs was abandoned by his mother and left in the care of his violent, alcoholic father. He started his violence against women at 12 years old, but the authorities think it may have been earlier. After Krebs received a head injury, his crimes became worse. Krebs confessed to the murders of the 2 girls freely and was given the death penalty. He belonged to the minority of sociopaths - the sadistic killer. It is heartbreaking to read how these murders affected the families of the girls. This book is interesting enough without having to go into too much detail about what was done to the girls. The backgounds of the police investigators are brief and the court testimony is concise without losing any pertinent information.
