This is about the detectives trying to solve a murder that becomes more than one murder. Little scraps of art are left with the bodies that lead to a psychopath who was killed in court by one of his followers after his trial. The two detectives each have their own strong points and they work together like a well-oiled machine. They are also very human. The subplot is the relationship that has just fallen apart for one of them. The detectives get 'played' for a while, but in the end, they succeed. I did not do a full 5.0 because the author left one of the cops tied up and then we go to the epilogue and find out what happened after he is rescued or releases himself - in other words, how did he get out of the pickle he was in?
