"A strange seductive story...as eerie as a midnight walk in the fog," according to the NY Times Book review. It is a story of Kay Farrow, she is a photographer canvassing the seedy underworld of San Francisco. Colorblind (she can only see tones of black and white no "real" color), she is a photo journalist shooting only in black and white, her keen, talented eye makes her work unique.

This is a novel that brought the feelings and ambiance of San Francisco alive for me. I haven't lived there since the 60's but some of my strongest memories reside during that time. Author, David Hunt, brought many of them back full force. If you love San Francisco with all her good and bad this is worth reading for that alone. Then to top it off, the story held me spell-bound.

The writing is crisp and easy to read. This story kept me up later than I wanted for several evenings until I finished it. I loved it and can hardly wait to begin his second book, Trick of Light (Kay Farrow, Bk 2) (aka Trick Shot). Though I need to take a brief respite from the intensity of his story telling. As far as I can tell he hasn't written another Kay Farrow book yet.
