Very enjoyable young adult read. Nothing controversial - I am a librarian at a small Christian school and I like to preview books for the middle school and younger groups. Although it does pit adults vs. kids - it is mainly one clearly "mean" (later shown why she turned out that way) lady against the children. Very inspiring messages about being who you were meant to be (in Piper's words - "the way the Lord made me") even if it's not like everyone else. The "mean" lady does fall her to death, but it is not graphic or purposeful and it isn't dwelt on. Piper feels bad that it happens once she's found out why the lady is the way she is.
