Gritty and intense novel with well drawn, over-the-top characters. To call this story dark is to merely scratch the surface. Chuck Wendig has created a blasted out window into the depraved, howling soul of his emotionally wounded anti-hero Miriam Black. A mere touch of skin burdens her with the details of another human's death. The curse of "knowing" leads her into a life no one would ask for. Others will do anything to track her down and make us of her gift/curse. But she's tougher than she looks...

Original and fast paced. I couldn't put it down. 5 stars.
