Growing up with two strong older brothers, she learned at an early age to fight for what she wanted. Sage Tyler set her mind on a certain life style and level of success, and planned to marry a mild mannered professional type. That's the kind of man she thought she wanted - sophisticated, quiet...and controllable. But on a visit home, she encounters Harlan Boyd. Harlan is working for her brothers. He possesses a small town mentality which she disparages, an inflated ego which she finds insufferable, and is amused, not intimidated, by her imperiousness and affected snobbery. Much to her dismay, Sage falls in love with Harlan because he's not only provocative and virile in a come-on-I-dare-you way, but he's the first man in her life she hasn't been able to wrap around her little finger. Soon, however, Sage learns there's much more to Harlan that she suspected. Thrown together in a last, desperat scheme to save Tyler Drilling, Sage and Harlan fall more and more deeply in love - and discover a whole new dimension of daring...and loving.
