I love this series and it was great to be back on Shetland Island with Jimmy Perez again. Jimmy is one of my favorite detectives. He is still grieving for Fran and is attempting to have a relationship with Willow but continually keeps backing off. Can't wait until Jimmy finally settles into a good relationship because it definitely is time for him to move on from Fran's death. Ann Cleeves is an excellent writer but she is very careful with her clues and figuring out the murderer has proven very difficult. Her characters are always very interesting and well-developed. The plots are intriguing and keep you guessing until the reveal in the last part of the book. If you haven't started this series, it is best to read the books in order. I'm looking forward to the next installment which comes out in September 2018. I would highly recommend this series to those who love atmospheric thrillers.
