A bit of a disappointment. I think it's the worse one of the series.

I think it started out clever enough with the werewolf version of twitter and a conference for wolves to unite or settle their differences. There were parts that were pretty funny. But there were just too many really dumb ideas and actions, especially by Kate that made the book annoying. I don't mind a bit of fluff literature and Vicki Lewis Thompson definitely fits in that category but sometimes she goes overboard and instead of fun it becomes tacky.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

It just seems like instead of being able to mate with humans or weres was a pointless time to have a huge debate over. It's like we can make a law that makes it illegal for teens to have sex but I don't think it would stop them. It seems like the real issue is whether to out themselves or not and if Thompson would have focused on that it wouldn't have been so lame.

Kate was a horrible character. I can't see her being a good alpha because she is not the smartest tool in the shed. When Duncan "betrays" her, I really don't see why she didn't even give him a chance so she can cover all her bases. She is very emotional and rash and the fact that both of them were heading towards a huge debate but neither had read each other's books as a way to prepare until the last minute speaks of poor leadership. Kate does have some good moments though and it kept me reading.

The baddie in the story is predictable but I have to say inconsistent. I got the impression he was slimy and lacks the strength to be a leader but is smart, kind of like Iago. By the end, he is kind of the town bully.

There are a lot of more things I can harp on but I won't. You get the point. On top of that it's basically the same premise as all the other books. I guess this whole series is going to be able hooking up with someone you shouldn't. It does get stale and I'm not sure I will continue.

Not impressed. The other ones are better.
