This is a disappointing Rowe book. If you don't read it you haven't missed anything.
The first page drops you into a story that has started without you. There is no gentle reminding of who the characters are. There is a confusing/disjointed sentence thrown in every once in awhile to try to help you remember. I don't have an instant recall of the last book so it was confusing.
The writing was not to SR's previous level. The storyline was very superficial and really didn't suck you in with characters you could care about. The main characters, Paige and Jed, had others around only to solve the issue at hand with no real involvement. In previous books the secondary characters were as fun as the main ones.
I almost think the book was put out before it was totally revised and corrected. I don't often say a book isn't worth it- but this one isn't.
