Sorry - not. At fifty-ish, these characters are not "girls". They're certainly not "sweet". And it's doubtful they are the "same" as they were when they met in college.
Some might find this a book about friendships that last through the decades; others will merely be annoyed at the sniping, back- biting treachery of the characters. (And yes, I realize that the name they adopted for themselves was created ironically. I still didn't like it. Your mileage may vary.)
