This, Dolores Hinton's first book, was originally published in 1966, at a time when there was a conspicuous absence of quilt history texts available. In addition to publishing prints for her own original designs, she wrote many articles for countless magazines. She was a pioneer writer and researcher of the late twentieth century quilt movement. This book is both a how-to manual of basic quilt construction techniques, and a valuable guide to the historical aspects of quiltmaking and collecting. As such it is a great addition to any serious quiltmaker's literary collection.
