Susanna Kearsley never disappoints. Like other books I've read by her, in that there are two parallel plots, but it does not have the supernatural aspects of her other stories. In the present, Sara is a code breaker with Asperger's who is helping decode the 1732 diary of Mary Dundas, a woman helping the Jacobites hide a man involved in a banking scandal. The characters are well developed, and while there is a sweet romance in both stories, there is so much more to plot. The characters and plot are complex, with unexpected turns that kept me interested throughout the entire book.
