This is the sixth book in the "Verity Kent" series and I thought it was a bit drawn out. Which is a nice way of saying there is a lot of filler in it. Plus, as usual, it seems their arch-villain "Lord Ardmore" is still staying 20 steps ahead of them. And that is getting tiresome, as least to me. Even through one of Ardmore's evil minions meets his "just deserts" in the end of this book.

I dislike books with a super-villain heading up a vast conspiracy which no one can counter. Until, of course, a miracle occurs in the last book of the series. And at the current time Fantastic Fiction doesn't report another "Verity Kent" book in the works. So who knows when it might come out, if ever.

As a result, I've decided that in any future book even if Lord Ardmore kills off the Kents and all their allies, and even makes himself King of Great Britain, I won't know about it as I'm done with this series.

Fortunately, I've gotten most of the "Verity Kent" books from my local library, so this one goes back tomorrow.
