Lucy and Kevin have been together for 2 years. Unbeknownst to her, he's cheating on her. With her sister Alice. Alice has Issues. She was sick when she was a kid and has been treated with kid gloves ever since. Lucy gets introduced to Sam.
While this took some time for me to get into, I really enjoyed this one. This is my first foray into "magical realism," and I have to say I really liked it! I disliked Alice from the start and my feelings didn't change. At all. I thought Lucy was a bit of a doormat at times (when it came to her sister and to a lesser extent her parents). I liked Sam's abilities too. Zoe, Justine, and Alex were all characters that stood out for me too.
Looking forward to Alex and Zoe's book.
