This is book 6 in the series.
Raine Stockton lives in the Mountains of North Carolina. The kennel is quiet. It is the slow season. How is she going to make ends meet. There is a new program for troubled youths and she volunteers to help chaperone a group of youths on a hike into the Mountains.
This book kept me guessing to the end. I hated the beginning because I hate when they tell you the end first. This time it did not ruin the suspense in the book. This is now one of my favorites from the author.
