This is a pleasant book to dip into, containing anecdotes from baseball players of the teens to seventies for the most part. I will take it to old soldiers and sailors home and hope someone is interested. We don't have many readers and after eight weeks I take the six or eight or ten books I bring on Saturday to the lobby of the VA hospital, which I hope not to do with this as it is a substantial tome.
Well-indexed but there is no bibliography or footnotes--one must take the author's word on the accuracy. I would suspect he went through a lot of newspaper files.
