If you are (like myself) a person that is sometimes guilty of treating canines with more patience and kindness than other homosapiens then this is a good book for you. The authors discuss the qualities that we most appreciate in our dogs (loyalty, patience, etc.) and then remind us to incorporate those qualities into our lives and in our dealings with others (other people, that is). Also contains some nice anecdotes about the author's dogs that will warm your heart.
