Isobel Lambert is known as the Ice Queen. As the head of The Committee, a top secret organization, Isobel is known for being cool and capable, always getting the job done. Now The Committee has been contacted by a terrorist named Serafin, one of the most dangerous men in the world. Many people are trying to kill him. He wants to make a deal with The Committee: Give him asylum and he will give them information. Isobel agrees to extract him from his hiding place; but when she sees him, she realizes he is Killian, the man she loved and killed 18 years ago.
This is the fourth book in Stuart's Ice series and my favorite so far. Killian is Stuart's usual Bad Boy Hero who I liked from the start. I never cared for the character of Isobel in the past books. I guess she was too cold and unlikeable for me. In this book we get inside her head. I liked her much better since now we can see what makes her tick. Many readers complained about her going from getting things done to having to be saved. She could have been a little more capable in her job, but I still liked her character better in this book. I also enjoyed some of the past characters playing a big part in this story. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
