Good first effort by this author. Although there was nothing earth-shattering about the plot or the writing, it was fun reading. The two main characters were strong and interesting people, and made a very believable couple. Liliana studies chemistry, following in her father's footsteps, and reminded me a bit of the women in Cara Elliott's 'Circle of Sin' series. Geoffrey is an Earl with politically progressive views(for the time) and he respects her intellectual and scientific ability and ambitions. There are a few historical anachronisms( use of modern words like 'okay'), but that didn't stop me from enjoying the book. I will definitely look for Heather Snow's next books.
