Unlike "The Hidden Diaries of Marie Antoinette" which took us from the time of childhood to the Queen's execution, "Marie Antoinette: Princess of Versailles, Austria-France, 1769" takes us from her childhood in Austria to her childhood in France as the Dauphine. While I felt it was cut short -- as there is so much more history of the Dauphin and Dauphine than what the book portrayed -- it was interesting to read Marie Antoinette's life from a young girl's point of view. Imagine spending days in an Empire, clueless to the common world outside, and being so young and chosen to rule a country! This book cut out the tragedy and replaced it with innocence.
