Author Teixeira works at Intel and has been involved in some cutting edge projects to integrate virtual reality and other technologies into our lives and institutions. He creates a version of the near future where a workforce of test-tube almost-humans (t-breeds) provides cheap labor and living organ-farms. These creatures must be programmed, and the story centers around one such programmer. Magical realism, cyberpunk, and industrial espionage themes wind through this well-paced story.
