Abridged EditionThis is pure Cussler!!!Of course his books are far-fetched, incredible, and way over the top, but HELLO - they are fiction! I have been a fan of Cussler forever - I know there are some of you out there who think he's terrible writer (I've read some of your comments on other books), whatever you think, you have to admit that he is a fantastic STORYTELLER!!!! Learn to adjust your expectations to fit the novel. Where was I? Oh Yeah, Cussler books are adventure ROMPS, where the good guys can take care of anything and solve any riddle (and always manage to get the girl in the process). Isn't that what you want in an adventure? I agree, listening to this book will NOT increase your IQ or expand your literary horizons, but it WILL give you a few hours of fun!You may be interested to know that Clive cussler lives much the same lifestyle as his trademark character (Dirk Pitt). NUMA is a real-life entity, and the organization DOES seek out lost shipwrecks, planes, etc. Cussler has written a couple of non-fiction books, "The Sea Hunters", volumes I & II. If you're an adventurer of any sort, especially a diving nut, you'll enjoy those books as well, I'm sure!Wiley coyote
