The Big Misunderstanding is a time honored plot in regency romances and often it's pretty silly; if the characters had just sat down for a ten minute discussion of the truth they could have resolved their differences, but somehow they manage to avoid doing so. This book relies heaviy on that plot line, so if "The Big Mis" makes you nutz, this might not be for you. I found it readable and very intense in its depiction of how few resources a woman might have when her character is questioned and how important the effect of that disparagement might be. I recommend it.
