This is the initial offering of a trilogy by a new author, Lisa Berne. I didn't find anything particularly original about the plot or characters. I finished the story without much enthusiasm.

Gabriel Penhallow is ready to marry and open his nursery. One woman is about the same as another, in his mind. When Gabriel is caught kissing the village nobody, he accepts his responsibility to marry her.

They marry, and with the help of Gabriel's grandmother, Livia learns quickly to be well-dressed, well-spoken and engaging. However, the couple continuously back-bites and argues with each other. After a while, I got bored with it all; Gabriel would be accommodating and Livia would be in a snit -- or visa versa.

I have no intention in continuing this saga.
