This is one strange book. I thought after reading as many paranormal romance books as I have I couldn't be surprised, but this book managed to surprise me. The story centers around the Chanku. They are a race who appear human, but they can, at will, shift into wolves. This is a very sexually explicit book, but everything is loving and consensual. The book has lots of sex and in many variations - f/f; m/m/f; m/m; m/f/m/f. So definitely keep this away from teens and children. I think some people are going to have problems with the Chanku mating when they're wolves. I wasn't put off by the fact the Chanku sometimes mate as wolves. If people shift between human and wolf forms, it's natural and even expected that they might have relations in their alternate form. I actually find it surprising that in other shifter books the people have relationships with each other only when they are in their human forms.
The plot could have been better. I didn't feel there was enough suspense or a clear sense of danger.
This is not the best book for someone getting started in the paranormal genre. It might be too much for a novice. I liked it enough to read more from the same author.
