With politics being what it is today, it is difficult to remain "fair and balanced" when discussing some of these hot-button issues of the past decades. However, Captivating History managed to keep this history "between the ditches" (keeping to the middle of the road).
The author offered a clear explanation of the interaction between the Wall Street Crash and the Great Depression. The few paragraphs used to describe their connection will give readers a great understanding of the interplay of those two catastrophic events.
The explanation of the Vietnamese people and how the Vietnam War started was also superb. Millions of words were written about the Vietnam War; this book tells the causes and effects in straightforward (and unlabored) simplicity. Overall, I found this book informative and enjoyed the analysis. The Bibliography is extensive for those looking for more into.
