It's a classic western tale that was impressive enough for Rod Serling to craft into a 'Twilight Zone' TV episode ---- way back when. The tale is a study in mob justice. It could have happened anywhere, anytime that men of action let their anger goad them into taking the law into their own hands. The story is considered a modern classic masterpiece. (or so the book cover says)
