Another fabulous book by Elizabeth Bard that has me looking at flights to France! Having enjoyed reading her book Lunch in Paris, I was eager to read how this New Yorker would adjust to country living in Provence.
In Lunch in Paris we see how she falls in love with Frenchman Gwendal, enjoys the life of a Parisienne altho the New Yorker in her finds some adjustments awkward. Now ten years later and very pregnant with their first child, on a weekend excursion to Provencial village of Cereste, they find the perfect home to buy and move lock, stock, and barrel from Paris.
Bard entertains us with descriptions of village life, farming, cooking local veggies and fruits, eventually taking their son to pre-school all with the help of neighbors and occasionally her visiting mother.
Through out the book, Bard shares delectable recipes! An enjoyable read, makes me want to visit Provence soon.
