I had never read a Jennifer Cruise book until I started Paperback Swap! LOVE HER! Though I am a lover of CHICK LIT I am not a lover of ROMANCE Novels-way too predictable.
Crusie is technically a romance writer but her stuff reads much more like Chick lit. ( For me Chick lit is about 3 dimensional women who have careers and children and aren't focused solely on "A MAN" Whereas ROMANCE genre seems to be 2 dimensional woman who only want 1 thing ( and it isn't good sex ; ) Please ladies - this is just my opinion -= not trying to insult anyone's taste. I just think Crusie straddles the chick lit/romance category very nicely. her books have GREAT characters and loads of humor. Plus Crusie seems to really like animals as they seem to be in all of her stories.
BET ME is Crusie at her best. Fantastic characters with a REALLY nice subplot about not having to be SKINNY to be happy.
