I was growing bored with highlander novels, but not anymore! Maya Banks breathes new life into the Highlander! This is a wonderfully exciting and passionate tale. There's no love angst between Ewan and Mairin; just the natural progression of a straight forward romance. The subplot is steeped in adventure, mystery, and betrayal. Some scenes left me breathless. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Great storytelling here, folks. This is what the romance genre is all about. Highly recommended. 4.5 stars.
