D.I. Kim Stone is called to investigate a murder in the apartment building where she lived as a child. Upon entering the crime scene, she sees a man and a woman handcuffed to a radiator. The man is dead. The scene looks exactly like the worst day of her life...when her mother chained Kim and her twin brother to the radiator and left them for dead. It's quickly apparent that someone has recreated the scene from Kim's past. Kim wants to believe that this is a coincidence. But when the bodies of a middle-aged couple are found in a burnt-out car, Kim knows someone is trying to hurt her by making her relive the terrible losses in her life.

I loved the plot of this story. Kim and her team need to figure out who hates Kim enough to kill these people to recreate scenes from Kim's past. Well, the list is long. Many characters from past books pop up in this one. I changed my mind about the killer over and over in this book. Woody assigns Profiler Allison Lowe to help out on this case and keep an eye on Kim. Allison brings her own little mystery to this book and gets some help from Stacey.

I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series before reading this one. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
