So when she comes upon a letter from her father, who had supposedly adbannoned her, she decides to go out west and finally meet him.
Cole McAllister despises Elizabeth, who he thinks intentionally has ignored her father all these years. He met Jon, the father, when he was 10 while going out west. When his parents died, along with Jon's wife, Jon took Cole and his sister in. He's always considered Jon like a father so when Elizabeth makes an apparence he's less than happy. But one look at her and he can't help falling for her. And then something happens that causes Elizabeth and Cole to get married. The marriage starts out great before her grandfather interfers. Elizabeth and Cole then have to learn to love and trust each. Throughout this book they mature and grow together. I also loved the secondary characters and their romances
