Book Description
With all the enthusiasm of a man condemned to be hanged, Larsen takes up his new post. Like the other workers at the shipyard, he routinely goes through the motions. Every so often, his sense of reality is shaken by a tremor of self-deception, and then it is possible to believe that the yard's glory is not just a thing of the past.

My Review
This book was an interesting short novel about a struggling shipyard where one manager, Larsen, and 3 employees are working without being paid. There are no running ships, broken-down buildings and rusty machinery and the contrast between desire and reality is very evident in this novel without a real plot. There seems to be more to the story as there are two books in the series and the next book explains why these people are working without getting paid. The language which is flowing is the best thing about the novel and I'm rather curious about this strange shipyard but I don't think I'll read the next book.
