Lara Jensen believes she lives a normal life. Working happily as an apprentice tailor in a quiet Boston, she has no unique talents but knows when someone is not telling the truth and she cannot lie to herself or others. Using this sense, she even helps her best friend buy a used car.

Then she meets the local weatherman who confesses that he is a prince of Faerie. She is a truth seeker, he says, one with a rare ability to tell truth from falsehood. She agrees. Moving between worlds, she faces court politics, encounters war between the Seelie and Unseelie, magic, finds romance and more. Drawn to each other, the two face a malevolent entity with dark magic.
