Dr. Sophia Channing is a forensic profiler on loan to Iowa's DCI task force. Working alongside Agent Cam Prescott, they are looking for a depraved sexual sadist who has already killed six women.

Dr. Channing does her job and issues a profile based on the knowledge they have. Unfortunately the killer does not agree with the profile and he sets his eyes on her ..to make her see the error of her ways.

When Sophia suddenly vanishes, Cam and his team shift into overdrive to keep her from being the latest victim.
The story goes back and forth between present time and some time previous when Sophia and Cam have a brief passionate affair.

This is a Romantic Suspense.. about a 50/50 mix. The intimate moments are graphic, but very well done. The characters both come across as very believable.

Since this is the first book in a series of three, there is a cliffhanger. Most of this story stops with a satisfactory ending.. with enough to keep you coming back for Book 2 ... TOUCHING EVIL.
