This is a story about a small town with a dark secret. That secret got under the skin of the town and slowly festered throughout the years.
The book starts out quickly with the murder of a young teenage girl named Lena. With a confession to the murder, all seems well. Fast forward decades later when a true crime podcaster starts looking into the murder. The pot gets stirred and the truth starts to bubble to the surface.
The mystery behind the story isn't really too hard to figure out. It wasn't what I thought the strong part of the story was. The strongest part was it showed how one murder could affect every single person surrounded by it. From the police officers to fellow students and the family. Good read that kept me involved.
