This book is full of marital complications.
What happens to a marriage when your wife is suffering from a deep depression over the loss of her mother. She can bearly care for herself let alone the children. This causes job pressure, which forces the husband to temporally change his job location to be able to care for her and the kids. During a business trip, and circumstances out of his control he breaks a marital vow. One he never confesses. They begin to rebuild after that horrible time, and then years later, that night resurfaces in the form of an innocent child. One that the husband was never aware of, yet real soon it is going to made crystal clear to him.
