On the spur of the moment, successful NY stockbroker Alexandra Scott swaps her $400,000 condo for a shack and tackle shop in Alaska to find a husband. Yes she ups and moves because the man-to-woman ratio is unbelievable. (I know this because I've thought of doing the same thing but common sense keeps stopping me.) Well our TSTL heroine seems to be lacking common sense. I found it hard to reconcile the powerful vice president with the woman who arrives in Alaska. I swear she must have stopped and had a lobotomy on the way.
But I really liked Casey. He's seriously sexy and very laid-back, a typical west coast attitude. He's your average guy looking to get laid but of course, not looking to settle down and cohabitate. He has good intentions and really tries to help Alex out. Casey is instantly smitten and dons the shining armor to rescue the damsel in distress...repeatedly.
I did like this book even though Alex got on my nerves. I'm very independent and I just can't stand the wimpy female who can't do anything for fear of breaking a nail. What the heck is Alex doing in Alaska anyway? Oh yes, the man hunt...a very worthy cause but once you catch that great Alaskan, you do realize you're stuck in Alaska right?
I did get one very important thing from this book - when I move to Alaska I need to leave the designer clothes and expensive heels behind. Also I need to trade my shiny red sports car in for a more sturdy model...like a giant SUV.
