A wonderful book about a daughter who decides to leave her family behind (after dealing with her mom's evil boyfriend ((fair warning he cusses A LOT in this book))), so she decides to take a chance and stay the summer with her mother's godmother and best friend. She learns a lot about her past and her future during her stay, and also what Mermaid Park really means to her and how it ties into everything. An amazing book with a wonderful story line, a perfect cozy read for these warm summer months. Again just be wary of the cussing as it does get out of hand, but it depecits real life instead of giving us the happy fluffy feeling, it lets you know how badly it really hurts Amy in this book when her mother's boyfriend cusses at her the way he does.
